Surrounded by over 190 miles of spectacular coral, Beqa Lagoon is one of the world’s largest barrier reefs.

The water is clear and warm, currents are generally mild, and the Fiji water temperature stays a fairly constant 80 degrees.

Put on a mask and fins anytime. Snorkeling is free as is unlimited shore diving when you book a dive package.

One of Beqa Lagoon Resort's distinctive features is that coral reef heads thrive just a few feet from the beach where even snorkelers will be able to see many wonders of Beqa Lagoon, such as clownfish, lionfish, lobsters, frogfish, live corals and lots of other tropical creatures.

Take a half day introductory scuba diving resort course and explore the deeper waters. Beqa Lagoon Resort's PADI certified divemasters and instructors will introduce you to wonders you never imagined!

The divemasters at Beqa Lagoon have been diving in these waters since they were children and know every reef and coral head and will point out the creatures that abound in these waters - Blue Ribbon Eels, Clown Triggers, Lion Fish, Leaf Scorpions, Reef Sharks and millions of colorful Anthias and Fusiliers.

Join Beqa Lagoon Resort divers for the incredible shark and big fish encounter where you will see over 9 species of sharks,huge groupers, rays and sea turtles and more!

Underwater, the magic never lets up, fin around pinnacles cloaked in psychedelic pink, orange and red soft corals.

See wispy lionfish and leaf scorpion fish camouflaged in their crevices, and watch a camera-shy batfish try, and fail, to hide from a group of underwater photographers in a swim-through.

Beqa Lagoon is more than 100 square miles, ringed by a 40-mile-long reef, the rim of a long-extinct volcano’s crater.

Diving takes place mainly on the western and northeastern edges of the reef, and the best sites: Fantasy, Golden Arches, Seven Sisters, offer complete microcosms of the best of Beqa's intricate coral formations, delicate sea fans and feather stars, pelagic encounters, colorful Moorish idols, butterfly-fish and parrotfish, all topped with a confetti-like spray of orange and purple Anthias.

About the Diving:

• minimum 4 or 6 divers required for boat dives

Beqa Lagoon TOP TEN Dive Sites:

1. SHARK DIVE – 95FT TO 105FT
THE BEST SHARK DIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD!!
At least nine different species of sharks – Bulls, Silver, Nurse and the occasional 15ft Tiger Shark.

2. FANTASEA - 70FT
Colors, soft coral and lots of Gorgenian Fans in different shapes, sizes and colors

3 CARPET COVE – 100 TO 110FT
Lots of carpet anemonies with clown fish. Also an 80ft Chinese trawler wreck at 100ft.

4. JOHN’S TUNNEL – 80FT
A tunnel 30ft long, 5ft to 8ft wide lined with soft coral. Also a wreck at 80ft.

5. JOE’S BEST – 90FT
One coral head 40ft x 90ft with a giant swim through in the middle. Teeming with soft coral, fans, antheas, school of barracudas, etc.

6. SOFT CORAL PLATEAU – 90FT
A body of reef sitting right in the middle of the north passage to Beqa Lagoon, Eagle rays, blue ribbon eels, and tons of soft coral.

7. SHINING GLORY – 70FT
Three coral heads - one of which having a crack at the very top offering spectacular light refractions.

8. SEVEN SISTERS – 70FT
Seven coral heads lined in a row each with its own unique features.

9. BLUE WALL – 130FT +
The wall on the South East side of Beqa Lagoon rises from 150ft to 15ft. Sharks, mantas, eagle rays abound and always at least 100ft + visibility.

10. FRIGATE WALL – 130FT +
Very similar to Blue Wall – Lots of cracks and alleyways in the wall. Also home of the “Fiji Pipeline” famous surf spot!
